Freqax is the artistic alias of Adrian Andrei, a romanian electronic music producer known for his intense, high‑energy approach to drum & bass. Emerging in 2009 with the release of “The Man with No Faith” on Sinuous Recordings, Freqax quickly established himself as a force within the harder, darker corners of the genre. Initially a duo, (w/ Liviu Spurcaciu aka C9H13NO3) the project became Adrian’s solo endeavor after 2012 (when Liviu left the project), marking the beginning of a steady evolution in both sound and artistic identity.
Adrian’s work under the Freqax name is defined by heavy, meticulously crafted sound design influenced by a wide spectrum of musical inspirations. Over the years, he has released Singles, EPs and also an Album, on some of the most respected labels in the drum & bass scene, including PRSPCT, Othercide, Algorythm, Yellow Stripe, Pulsatil Records, Future Sickness and Forbidden Society Recordings. His catalog reflects a relentless pursuit of innovation and intensity.
Freqax has collaborated with major names such as Counterstrike, Katharsys, and Sinister Souls, Tanukichi, Ogonek and has delivered remixes for artists like Agressor Bunx, Anatomix, and Brainpain. These partnerships highlight his reputation as a versatile and respected producer within the global drum & bass community.
While Freqax remains his primary and most recognized project, Adrian also explores experimental territories under the alias Freqkid, where he blends IDM, funk, jazz, neotrap, and other eclectic influences. This second identity gives him full creative freedom beyond the expectations of the drum & bass scene.
Known for his discipline, curiosity, and constant learning, Adrian continues to push his sound forward. He remains active in the studio, working on new collaborations and releases that expand both the Freqax and Freqkid universes. His dedication to evolving his craft ensures that his presence in the electronic music landscape remains powerful and relevant.
